The Clock App Reviews

Elegance and Flexibility

I use The Clock both as an engineer working with teams across multiple time zones, and as an amateur radio operator. In ham radio we record many events by UTC as 24-hour display, and The Clock makes it extremely easy to setup a mixed timezone display with some timezone clocks as normal 12-hour AM/PM, and “zulu time” as 24-hour. It’s pretty hard to find a clock app that will actually do that in the first place. On top of that, it’s the best looking clock/calendar I’ve found on any platform. Just fantastic.

Beautiful and Functional

As a global PM I need to schedule meetings across time zones and this app does it for me. It is a great looking app…convienient access on my bar and I am looking forward to using the break feature to get me up out of my chair more regularly. This app is full of features. Well done!

Great

I deal with companies all over the world. Never can keep track of the time. I have turned off the apple clock and use The clock full time. easy to set up and gives options that are not just bells and whistles. Well worth the money.

Gerat customer service

Almost instant feedback to my question with great solution. Great app too!

New features make it even better

This app rocks. I use it every day at work when dealing with programmers that live and work from all over the world. Quick, easy, awesome. Thanks!

Waste of time and money….

I just bought the app, i am unable to launch the app except for the first time. The icon is still in the launchpad and in dock. When I click the app nothing opens nor any error message is given. I deleted the app from the computer and installed it again with very same experience. It is frustrating….

Fits My Needs Perfectly

This app is well worth the price. Very customizable. I also have Fabrices "Hour" and I find it useful to run both apps simultaneously. Really useful!

Perfect as far as I can see.

I really like The Clock and use it several times everyday. Calling friends around the world and knowing what time it is there is great. It even automatically updated to Fiji summer time for me. Very good app as far as I”m concerned.

Best clock period

I do a bit of travel. The system support for timezones has worked great for me, but I needed a bit more to help me deal with issues across multiple timezones, from USA, to Europe and India. “The Clock” and the new plugin mode gives me the information about timezones that I need and looks great. It is a simple problem with a simple solution. If I have a request right now, please keep it simple as it is. I am very happy I spent this money.

Great Clock app

Great World Clock app. Im curious if you could do a bit to help people with time zones. I need to know what time zone the clock is in. For example, when Im scheduling a meeting I place in the email/chat: 1pm CST… or is it CDT? I need to know. Currently, I place that info in the title using the alias feature -- life saver! -- however, due to space limitations I only see "Bangalore (…" Instead of "Bangalore (IST)". Other than this, great stuff!

You Can’t Ask for Much More

What is better than an app that does exactly what it is supposed to do in a simple, easy to use fashion? The answer is an app developed by someone who is always there to answer questions and guide you through whatever you need. That is exactly what you get with The Clock.

Needs work

I’m finding that the app will not automatically show up in the doc even if I check off to start when logging on. Moreover, while the material seems to suggest that the clock is compatible with apple scrips allowing you to move the dock location with a command click on the dock icon, this is NOT the case. For those who would like the icon to show up on the right or under the existing clock you are stuck with a separate icon. It would be nice if they integrated with the existing clock function or allowed you to put it in place of it. However, without being able to position the docking location it shows up in whatever order it is loaded and NOT where you want it. Otherwise functionality is probably similar to that of the other apps. It would also be nice if they had an option that when you hit the scroll down clock menu that it scolls itself up after a set time so you don’t have to make the effort to click it again so that it disappears and stops blocking all your content. I wouldn’t expect so much, but at $3.99 its the most expensive clock so it should be better.

Perfect quick access to Calendar and Timezones

This app’s ability to quickly show a calendar and timezones is perfect for scheduling things or just checking the calendar dates. It’s menubar display options make it modest and unobtrusive (e.g., you can use the icon view if you like the default clock). I’d recommend it—hands down—over all the apps I’ve tested or used in the past to anyone that finds themslves checking either calendar dates or timezones as part of their day.

Perfect for Global Responsibilities

Ive been using The Clock for ~8 months I think. Its amazing and here is why! -International Responsibilities. I manage teams in many continents. Having a dropdown menu from the bar with every citys time zone I need is a huge timesaver. Huge! -Calendar Dropdown: Also a huge timesaver. I have to look at dates often and being able to do a dropdown from the bar for a quick glance is great! -Day, Date & Time on my menu bar!!! Nuff said. Keep it coming!

Everything I need

I finally got fed up with the default OS X clock/date menu item. I constantly click the date/time expecting to see a calendar as I do by default with W7 (which I use at work for 8 hours a day, so it is ingrained in my reflexes). I love how this app gives me that quick-view calendar option along with the multiple time zones that I need. There are more features as well that I will probably play with in time to come (such as the working hours, which looks useful), but at a basic level this app meets all of my needs and expectations for what I was looking for. I do wish I could move/replace its location with the now-turned-off OS X date/time location, but that is a limitation of OS X (but there’s an app for that!).

Perplexed

All reviewers like The Clock app. I thought I would like it too. It is something I’d really like to have. I need it. I bought it, paid for it, but didn’t get it; not a functional rendition of it. I can’t use what I got. I get the drop down calendar and preferences (I can make cosmetic choices but little else). I wish there was a tutorial for this app. Support offered no help at all. Seanse has left me hanging it the wind; they no longer reply to my pleas. I didn’t want to rate The Clock with one star because that would imply the app is not good and I can’t make that judgement, but apparently I have to make a choice, so I’m reluctantly going with one star. I hope other buyers fare better than I have.

fabulous design

This is really aesthetic and is exactly what I was looking for. Really glad I picked this up, as I have deadlines for international clients and it lets me plan things out more conveniently. There are a few things I wish it could do though, like being able to move it around the task bar, and having the time slider be more accessible via a button next to the anchor icon. Another awesome feature would be having colored dots on the days of the calender where the Calender app itself has actual entries. Im looking forward to future updates, and hoping that the dev behind this will impliment this stuff. 5 stars is well deserved.

Good product and good service

The clock does what I wanted it to do. At first it did not load up completely and was not seeming to function right. Then I wrote to the developer who promptly replied to me, but in the mean time it started working fine. My only wish was that it was just a clock and did not have to have the calendar there too. But it is good and does all it says it does. I recommend it.

Good Product

good app - does what it says - gives you the ability to add multiple clocks, one per some time zone. has a handy calendar (which can be hidden if desired). also shows ‘office hours’ and ‘out of hours’ indication for each time zone - neat. Clocks can show 24hr time or regular am/pm. Ability to display military time zones are interesting feature. the module either floats permanently or can be made to hide when some other desktop item is selected. small issue - can’t seem to figure out how to show the timezone offset from GMT. under preference options I see 0) show military time zones 1) show time offset to menu bar time *instead of* country Showing the time offset from some arbitrary base time is neat but I would rather de-couple the timezone issue from the country display issue and add time zone capability e.g. options could be: 1) show offset from GMT, military time, or some base time 2) show Country Label or not, show City Label or not tx.

Clock World and Central

This is a great clock. I have used it in Asia and in America. It always works and knows different time zones. Good purchase!
